1. (You Think You're) John Fucking Locke 2. To The Grave 3. Misled 4. In Hopes You Hear Counterparts and Exalt have decided to make a split album together. This is Exalts first ever release, so these are the first two songs you get to hear from the Kitchener band. Now both bands are slightly different from each other as Exalt is a heavier, more on the metal side of hardcore and Counterparts are more on the punk side of hardcore. This album doesn't really seem to flow either, it feels more like an attempt by Counterparts to get their friends in Exalt some more attention. Well it has worked, as you are looking at this right now. With Counterparts two songs, these are both great songs and have been recorded very well. They also have the standout track on the split, with "(You Think You're) John Fucking Locke" as it has a great sound everything about it just fits well together. Now with Exalt's two songs, they seem a little heavier and a bit all over the place but they do have something here that could be turned into something more. Their songs haven't been recorded quite as well but still decent, and the music seems to be a little more involved out of the two bands. Both bands really seem to have something here and have made a pretty solid split album that fans of both bands should like. Give both Counterparts and Exalt your attention and see what they are doing, and please, listen to this album!.
