Deterrence - Taking More Shots Than An Alcoholic

1. Rise
2. Broken Glass Figures
3. Realize
4. Jesus Christ Groupie
5. X
6. Hold It Away

Were Deterrence taking way too many shots when they recorded this album? I don't know. What I do know is that these guys have made an album that is super heavy and hits really hard. This album is like a punch in the face from that dirty drunk guy at the bar who you don't want to mess with after having one too many beers. The album  has a raw, heavy sound that could use some refining but still works. On the production side of the album, it does need some work to bring that sound and vocals more up front then they are. Sadly the playing here seems like it is just average, not bad but nothing to blow you away, same goes for the lyrics. If you want a song to listen to, try "X" as this song hits so hard and is so heavy it almost has a grindcore feel to it, plus it shows the albums sound. This band needs a little work as well as some progression and tweaking of the sound to make this just that bit better. Hopefully they cane do that and we'll see what they come up with next. Give the album a listen and see what the guys are up to next.
