Shotgun Rules have released their debut album titled "Music For  Lovers Who Hate." This album is one that really shows this band as heavy and into the screamo field of things. They have something here that a lot of the bands are doing. If you are into a band like From First To Last or a Moneen type band, you could really be into this album. They have done an alright job on this album. When looking at the recording quality of this album, the album has been recorded in an alright light, it could use a little work here and there but isn't too bad overall. What helps this band is that they really do have some decent instrumentation in their music, so they certainly grab you with that. Now onto the vocals and lyrics, the vocals are not bad here, the singer can scream, but the secondary vocals seem spots sadly. With the lyrics, they certainly have a different way of saying things and bringing their message to you. The band has lyrics that are similar to the way Moneen does their songs. If you are looking for a single to this album, there isn't one, so just pick a song and give it a listen to get the feel of the album. Shotgun Rules have made a debut album that shows some bright spots and gives them a chance at really making something here with a few tweaks here and there. Hopefully the band will get out there more so we can hear them. Listen to this album to decide for yourself what you think of it. They have since called it quits (R.I.P.)
